Morgan G.
Private tutor in New London, CT
Education
B.S. Cum Laude in Geology from The College of William and Mary, minor in Dance M.S. in Marine Sciences from Stony Brook University
Experience
Took AP History, English and Psychology exams in High School; took SAT, SAT II's and GRE exams for graduate school. I was the student coordinator for an educational outreach program through my geology department in college; we went to local elementary schools with hands-on activities and earth science lessons. I love to teach because it helps me to understand material better. Explaining it in a way that others can grasp is the true test of how well you yourself understand something. I am very patient and encouraging when it comes to learning as I believe it is the basis for future confidence and success.

Hobbies
I've taken dance since I was 4 and have taught it to young children since age 16. I was a dance major in college until I changed to Geology and kept dance as a minor. Dance trains your eye to understand a person by watching their physical actions, sometimes without even having to hear them speak. I currently perform with a small company part-time in New York City and I also take pre-professional classes in the city occasionally. Dance keeps me disciplined but also helps me remain creative. I also love to cook and bake, my house constantly smells of cookies :) I've grown up on the ocean my entire life and am so excited to now be studying it for a career. I have been on a number of research cruises and also have a family pleasure boat that we use to go to Block Island, Shelter Island (Long Island), Watch Hill RI and Martha's Vineyard.
